2 – How to Really Listen

How often have you had a conversation that just… doesn’t feel right. You’re being heard, but not listened to. If you’re honest with yourself, how often have you been the one who isn’t properly listening? Poor listening results in mistakes and misunderstandings. Which in turn can lead to ineffective decisions, and costly mistakes in business. By not listening, you miss out on potentially fantastic suggestions from the people you may very well have hired. And, on a personal level, not listening properly leads to hurt feelings and a loss of team cohesion.

In this track, we’ll arm you with the actionable techniques to transform your listening skills.

4 – Plain English

Beating around the bush sucks. Trying to understand a sentence from someone who has swallowed a thesaurus, or worse, a politician, can make your head spin. As far back as 1600, in Hamlet, Shakespeare wrote the memorable lines ‘more matter, with less art’ and ‘brevity is the soul of wit’.

The problem is that unclear writing plagues us every day. So many decisions are made worldwide based on a partial understanding because the available explanations were confusing and unclear.

Writing in plain language allows your message to reach as many people as possible. Clear writing can also avoid misunderstandings, that may have serious consequences.

In this track, we give you practical tips on how to use Plain English to improve your business communication.

  • Learn to get your point across succinctly
